Offerings at the Tabernacle's Dedication
1 (Lev 8:10-11) And it was on the day that Moses had fully set up
the tabernacle and anointed it and sanctified it and all its instruments,
both the altar and all its vessels, and anointed them, and sanctified them,
2 (Nu 1:4-16; 2Ch 35:8) that the leaders of Israel, heads of their
fathers' houses, who were the leaders of the tribes, and were over
them who were counted, made an offering.
3 And they brought their offering before the Lord, six covered wagons,
and twelve oxen, a wagon for two of the leaders, and for each one an ox.
And they brought them before the tabernacle.
4 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
5 Accept these things from them, that they may be used in the service
of the tent of meeting. Give them to the Levites, to each man according
to his service.
6 Moses took the wagons and the oxen and gave them to the Levites.
7 Two wagons and four oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon,
according to their service.
8 And four wagons and eight oxen he gave to the sons of Merari,
according to their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron
the priest.
9 (Nu 3:31; 2Sa 6:13) But to the sons of Kohath he gave none because
the service of the sanctuary belonging to them was that they should
carry on their shoulders.
10 (2Ch 7:9; Dt 20:5) The leaders brought their dedication offerings
when the altar was anointed, and offered their offerings before the
altar.
11 The Lord said to Moses: They will offer their offering, each leader
on his day, for the dedicating of the altar.
12 He that offered his offering the first day was Nahshon
the son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah.
13 (Ex 30:13; 25:29) And his offering was one silver charger,
the weight of which was one hundred and thirty shekels,
(About 3 1/4 pounds, or 1.5 kilograms; and throughout this chapter.)
one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
(About 1 3/4 pounds, or 800 grams; and throughout this chapter.)
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour
mixed with oil as a grain offering;
14 one spoon of ten shekels
(About 4 ounces, or 115 grams; and throughout this chapter.)
of gold, full of incense;
15 one young bull, one ram,
and one male lamb in its first year as a burnt offering;
16 (Lev 4:23) one goat kid as a sin offering;
17 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, and five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
18 (Nu 1:8) On the second day Nethanel the son of Zuar,
leader of Issachar, presented an offering.
19 He offered as his offering one silver charger,
the weight of which was one hundred and thirty shekels,
one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary,
both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil as a grain offering;
20 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
21 one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb in its first year as
a burnt offering;
22 one goat kid as a sin offering;
23 (Lev 7:11-13) and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen,
five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Nethanel the son of Zuar.
24 (Nu 1:9) On the third day Eliab the son of Helon,
leader of the children of Zebulun, presented an offering.
25 And his offering was one silver charger, the weight of which
was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed
with oil as a grain offering;
26 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
27 one young bull, one ram, one male lamb in its first year
as a burnt offering;
28 one goat kid as a sin offering;
29 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Eliab the son of Helon.
30 (Nu 1:5) On the fourth day Elizur the son of Shedeur,
leader of the children of Reuben, presented an offering.
31 And his offering was one silver charger, the weight of which was
one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour
mixed with oil as a grain offering;
32 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
33 one young bull, one ram, one male lamb in its first year
as a burnt offering;
34 one goat kid as a sin offering;
35 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Elizur the son of Shedeur.
36 (Nu 1:6) On the fifth day Shelumiel the son of Zuri-shaddai,
leader of the children of Simeon, presented an offering.
37 And his offering was one silver charger, the weight of which was
one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed
with oil as a grain offering;
38 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
39 one young bull, one ram, one male lamb in its first year,
as a burnt offering:
40 one goat kid as a sin offering;
41 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
42 (Nu 1:14; 2:14) On the sixth day Eliasaph the son of Deuel,
leader of the children of Gad, presented an offering.
43 (Lev 2:5; 14:10) And his offering was one silver charger,
the weight of which was one hundred and thirty shekels,
one silver bowl of seventy shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary,
both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering;
44 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
45 one young bull, one ram, one male lamb in
its first year as a burnt offering;
46 one goat kid as a sin offering;
47 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
48 (Nu 1:10; 2:18) On the seventh day Elishama the son of Ammihud,
leader of the children of Ephraim, presented an offering.
49 And his offering was one silver charger, the weight of which was
one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour
mixed with oil as a grain offering;
50 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
51 one young bull, one ram, one male lamb in its first year
as a burnt offering;
52 one goat kid as a sin offering;
53 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Elishama the son of Ammihud.
54 (Nu 1:10; 2:20) On the eighth day Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur,
leader of the children of Manasseh, presented an offering.
55 And his offering was one silver charger, the weight of which
was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed
with oil as a grain offering;
56 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
57 one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb
in its first year as a burnt offering;
58 one goat kid as a sin offering;
59 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
60 (Nu 1:11; 2:22) On the ninth day Abidan the son of Gideoni,
leader of the children of Benjamin, presented an offering.
61 And his offering was one silver charger, the weight of
which was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed with
oil as a grain offering;
62 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
63 one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb in its first year as a burnt
offering;
64 one goat kid as a sin offering;
65 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats,
and five male lambs in their first year. This was the offering of Abidan
the son of Gideoni.
66 (Nu 1:12; 2:25) On the tenth day Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai,
leader of the children of Dan, presented an offering.
67 And his offering was one silver charger, the weight of which was
one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour
mixed with oil as a grain offering;
68 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
69 one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb in its first year as
a burnt offering;
70 one goat kid as a sin offering;
71 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, and five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
72 (Nu 1:13; 2:27) On the eleventh day Pagiel the son of Okran,
leader of the children of Asher, presented an offering.
73 And his offering was one silver charger, the weight of which
was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mixed
with oil as a grain offering;
74 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
75 one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb in its first year
as a burnt offering;
76 one goat kid as a sin offering;
77 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, and five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Pagiel the son of Okran.
78 (Nu 1:15; 2:29) On the twelfth day Ahira the son of Enan,
leader of the children of Naphtali, presented an offering.
79 And his offering was one silver charger, the weight of which was
one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels,
after the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of fine flour
mixed with oil as a grain offering;
80 one spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense;
81 one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb in its first year
as a burnt offering; 82one goat kid as a sin offering;
83 and as a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams,
five male goats, and five male lambs in their first year.
This was the offering of Ahira the son of Enan.
84 (Nu 7:10) This was the dedication of the altar,
in the day when it was anointed, by the leaders of Israel:
twelve silver plates, twelve silver bowls, and twelve gold spoons,
85 each silver plate weighing one hundred and thirty shekels,
each bowl seventy. All the silver vessels weighed
two thousand four hundred shekels, (About 60 pounds, or 28 kilograms.)
according to the shekel of the sanctuary.
86 The gold spoons were twelve, full of incense, weighing ten shekels
apiece, according to the shekel of the sanctuary. All the gold of the
spoons was one hundred and twenty shekels. (About 3 pounds, or 1.4 kilograms.)
87 All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve bulls, twelve rams,
twelve male lambs in their first year, with their grain offering,
and twelve goat kids for a sin offering.
88 (Nu 7:1; 7:10) And all the oxen for the sacrifice of the peace offerings
were 24 bulls, the rams sixty, the goats sixty, the one-year-old lambs sixty.
This was the dedication of the altar after it was anointed.
89 (Ps 80:1; Ex 33:9-11) And then Moses went into the tent of meeting
to speak with Him, and he heard the voice of One speaking to him from
the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony,
from between the two cherubim, and He spoke to him.

[85] Each charger of silver weighing an hundred and thirty shekels, each
bowl seventy: all the silver vessels weighed two thousand and four hundred
shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:
[86] The golden spoons were twelve, full of incense, weighing ten shekels
apiece, after the shekel of the sanctuary: all the gold of the spoons was an
hundred and twenty shekels.
[87] All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve bullocks, the rams
twelve, the lambs of the first year twelve, with their meat offering: and
the kids of the goats for sin offering twelve.
[88] And all the oxen for the sacrifice of the peace offerings were twenty
and four bullocks, the rams sixty, the he goats sixty, the lambs of the
first year sixty. This was the dedication of the altar, after that it was
anointed.
[89] And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to
speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off
the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two
cherubims: and he spake unto him.

my glory and the One who raises up my head.

against me.
[2] Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God.

[3] But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of
mine head.
[4] I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy
hill. Selah.
[5] I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
[6] I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set
themselves against me round about.
[7] Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies
upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Bad memories and accusing messages flooded Sal's mind. Sleep eluded him as
fear filled his heart and sweat covered his skin. It was the night before his
baptism, and he couldn't stop the onslaught of dark thoughts. Sal had received
salvation in Jesus and knew that his sins had been forgiven, but the spiritual
battle continued. It's then that his wife took his hand and prayed for him.
Moments later, peace replaced the fear in Sal's heart. He got up and wrote
the words he would share prior to being baptised-something he hadn't been
able to do. After that, he experienced sweet sleep.
King David also knew what a restless night felt like. Fleeing from his son
Absalom who wanted to steal his throne (2 Samuel 15-17), he knew that
"I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set
themselves against me round about" (Psalm 3:6).
David moaned, "LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they
that rise up against me." (v. 1). Though fear and doubt could have won out,
he called out to God, his "shield" (v. 3). Later, he found that he could
"I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me" (v. 5).
When fears and struggles grip our mind and rest is replaced by restlessness,
hope is found as we pray to God. While we might not experience immediate
sweet sleep as Sal and David did, "in peace [we can] lie down and
. . . dwell in safety" (4:8). For God is with us and He'll be our rest.

to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
A baby dies of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and the parents are
devastated, plagued with guilt, and Asking "Why?" A 17-year-old plunges
headfirst into a pond and to the surface a quadriplegic. A single mother
of 3, struck down by leukemia, has to release he children to foster homes.
And in all these cases, well-meaning Christians stand by and attempt to
comfort: "All things work together for good, you know," they say blithely,
"just trust God, and praise him for everything."
Such pat answers are often repeated because they do contain an element
of truth; they become "pat", meaningless, and superficial, when they are
used as a panacea for all ills, whether the cure fits or not.
The truth is, God does use everything for the benefit of his people -
even disaster and tragedy. Romans 8:28 says, "In all things God works ...."
God foes not cause human suffering. He is not the author of pain
and misery. But what the Enemy of our souls intends for
destruction, God can use for growth.
The key to understanding Romans 8:28 is Romans 8:29 . The Lord makes
clear what "his purpose" is: that we be "conformed to the
likeness of his Son." Everything that happens is not good,
but nothing is wasted in the economy of God. Even the sorrow,
misfortune, and calamity that strike all of us cam be used by the Spirit
to transform us into the image of Christ.

Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries
such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still
continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our
Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom
they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants

apiece, according to the shekel of the sanctuary. All the gold of the
spoons was one hundred and twenty shekels. (About 3 pounds, or 1.4 kilograms.)
87 All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve bulls, twelve rams,
twelve male lambs in their first year, with their grain offering,

Bad memories and accusing messages flooded Sal's mind. Sleep eluded him as
fear filled his heart and sweat covered his skin. It was the night before his
baptism, and he couldn't stop the onslaught of dark thoughts. Sal had received
salvation in Jesus and knew that his sins had been forgiven, but the spiritual
battle continued. It's then that his wife took his hand and prayed for him.
Moments later, peace replaced the fear in Sal's heart. He got up and wrote
the words he would share prior to being baptised-something he hadn't been
able to do. After that, he experienced sweet sleep.
King David also knew what a restless night felt like. Fleeing from his son
Absalom who wanted to steal his throne (2 Samuel 15-17), he knew that
"I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set
themselves against me round about" (Psalm 3:6).
David moaned, "LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they
that rise up against me." (v. 1). Though fear and doubt could have won out,
he called out to God, his "shield" (v. 3). Later, he found that he could
"I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me" (v. 5).
When fears and struggles grip our mind and rest is replaced by restlessness,
hope is found as we pray to God. While we might not experience immediate
sweet sleep as Sal and David did, "in peace [we can] lie down and
. . . dwell in safety" (4:8). For God is with us and He'll be our rest.

Week 8 Guided by Grace Day 2 - God's purpose: The Image of Christ
Romans 8:28-29
28 (Gal 1:15; Ge 50:20) We know that all things work together for
good to those who love God,
to those who are called according to His purpose.
29 (Ro 11:2; 1Co 15:49; Eph 1:11) For those whom He foreknew,
He predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son,
so that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed
to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
A baby dies of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and the parents are
devastated, plagued with guilt, and Asking "Why?" A 17-year-old plunges
headfirst into a pond and to the surface a quadriplegic. A single mother
of 3, struck down by leukemia, has to release he children to foster homes.
And in all these cases, well-meaning Christians stand by and attempt to
comfort: "All things work together for good, you know," they say blithely,
"just trust God, and praise him for everything."
Such pat answers are often repeated because they do contain an element
of truth; they become "pat", meaningless, and superficial, when they are
used as a panacea for all ills, whether the cure fits or not.
The truth is, God does use everything for the benefit of his people -
even disaster and tragedy. Romans 8:28 says, "In all things God works ...."
God foes not cause human suffering. He is not the author of pain
and misery. But what the Enemy of our souls intends for
destruction, God can use for growth.
The key to understanding Romans 8:28 is Romans 8:29 . The Lord makes
clear what "his purpose" is: that we be "conformed to the
likeness of his Son." Everything that happens is not good,
but nothing is wasted in the economy of God. Even the sorrow,
misfortune, and calamity that strike all of us cam be used by the Spirit
to transform us into the image of Christ.

Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.
Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries
such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still
continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our
Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom
they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.
Please join us in praying for:
- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.
- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to
Muslim-background believers.
- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .
